WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT?

The stars came out to support the Get Together Foundation’s streaming concert event, raising funds for children’s charities for the holidays.

The all-star lineup featured performances and shoutouts from celebrities, notable recording artists & bands, actors, sports figures, TV personalities, plus special performances by the Get Together Foundation’s ‘house band’ The Tribe, all contributing songs and inspiring messages about Peace, Love & Understanding and the holidays. Highlights included musical performances from Kenny Loggins, Don Felder (formerly of the Eagles), Kenny G, Conan O’Brien with Jimmy Vivino & other members of the Basic Cable Band including Mike Merritt and James Wormworth, Brian McKnight, War, Marc Broussard, Larkin Poe, Mindi Abair, Pablo Cruise, and shoutouts by Jack Black, Joe Jonas, Dionne Warwick, The Boxmasters (Billy Bob Thornton & JD Andrew), Cybill Shepherd, Michelle Phillips, Jon Anderson of YES, Los Angeles City Councilmember John Lee, Dodgers great Steve Yeager, and more, plus a surprise previously unannounced performance from Bernard Fowler (backing vocalist for The Rolling Stones), and a world premiere of Davey Johnstone’s new video and song “All the Time in the World”. “The Holidays are a season of giving, and we are fortunate to be able to do our part to make this season just a little bit brighter for those in need. All of our guests gave stellar contributions that were heartwarming and embodied the joy of giving of oneself for the sake of those less fortunate.” — Kevin Wachs, Get Together Foundation co-founder and executive producer.

Our last telethon “All Together Now – LA” aired on April 25, 2020 and featured Carole King, Smokey Robinson, Jeff Bridges, Paul Rodgers, Tim Allen, Melissa Manchester, Jose Feliciano, Malcolm McDowell, Lisa Loeb, Sheila E, Rick Springfield, and dozens more. WHY DID WE DO THIS?

The Get Together Foundation is committed to making a difference in our community. Holiday time in 2020 was the perfect time to do something special for L.A.’s underserved kids. With all of the restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, many kids did not fully understand what’s happening around them. All they know is things have not been normal.

Although we’ve not been able to put on live benefit concerts this year as we’ve done in previous years, our Project Kids-Care campaign, including our second all-star telethon and concert event, and an online auction – successfully raised $41,100 for food, shelter, toys, education, mentoring, healthcare, and arts programs, which helped kids and their families to enjoy the holiday season in ways that would not have been possible without your generous donations.
